VOLSTAGG
What you see is what you get.
while after I finished that scene.
Some of the nightmares are just
random nightmares. They aren’t
based on memories, but perhaps
fears and his self insecurities that
not many people realise he has.
The one that stands out the most
to me was the one I called “The
Werelarl.” It was a very brutal
scene for me, and it held a lot of
hidden meaning to it.
I remember that when I was in the
room writing it, observers thought
that they were witnessing the
actual Death of Volstagg.
(If only it was that easy to get rid
of Me. -Smirks-)
It was one of those Role-plays
where you don’t know where it
is going but you can’t stop your
fingers from rolling. I think it was
one of the most defining scenes in
his entire history so far. I will never
forget that role-play. Ever
As For Goals. It’s Quite Simple.
Expansion, Conquest, and sheer
Superiority.
Volstagg found his calling, when
he started to lead his people into
wars. We’ve fought a lot of them
in our time. Against Scagnar, The
Landfall, Corcyrus, Laura, Treve,
etc.
We’ve always come out as the
victor, but the problem is, the more
Volstagg & his people continues
to defeat everyone they face, the
more he wants it. I made Volstagg.
I created him, that is true, but he’s
developed all on his own.. It’s his
goals that I write, his desires, lusts,
his destiny.
I relate him to Ragnar Lothbrok
of Vikings a lot, because they
are very alike. Except I think that
Volstagg is a little more primal.
With that comes more primal
goals with more feral ways of
achieving them. In the end, it all
boils down to the simplest goal in
life. Dominate.
What is one of the scariest
moments that you recall
happening to Volstagg?
I struggled with this one. He’s had
many moments of fear. A Man
without fear is a man without
courage. But none of them have
really stood out to me to be
honest.
When I’m faced with fear, I usually
kill it, and move on. Stepping over
its rotten corpse in the process.
But admittedly there was one mo-
ment. The Great Gorean Journey
That Role-play lasted a period of
many days and was entirely solo.
I stayed away from everyone
including my own people.
Volstagg was very lost in that time.
He felt like he was losing his grasp
on everything and losing all of
those around him..
So how did he react to that?
By going into one of the most
Desolate desolate regions of Gor.
The frozen north. I suppose it
would be more accurate to say
that I, the typist was more scared
than Volstagg the character.
Because I could feel him changing.
With every scene I could feel him
becoming less and less human.
More of the Monster. I feared that I
would never be able to get him to
“Come Home”
I thought I was losing him.
Fracture by suffering fracture. It
was a scary journey, not just in
the intensity of the play itself, but
in the sharpness of the feelings
I put into it. The rawness of the
emotions that backed it.
What is one of the funniest
moments?
They are mostly all just little
moments. Small things, passing
