Anyhoo! The new printer had to be compatiable
for the inks (It was!) and life was good. Print print
print...happy me!
Then suddenly, last year, I thought “Ohhhh
wouldnt it be cool to get a WIRELESS printer!
Because then I dont have to drag it from room
to room! Besides, I reasoned withmyself, the TX
is old. Its going to start producing sub standard
pics. (Which is not really true of course, I just
toldmyself that.) Oh! and I should get one thats
compatiable for the inks I still have.
( I like to have several spares in case I run out)
And because I get these ideas - I really should
take out the old inks, wrap themup, andmaybe I
can use themwhenmy new ink runs out!
Great ideas...all of them - Anyways...
Great ideas...In theory
The reality was I put ink everywhere getting
themout. I broke the TXs ribbon getting them
out. (Threw that printer to the trash) And with
magenta ink staining everything I touched,
wrapped the cartridges as carefully as my wet
fingers would allow.
I have discovered I amnot that good at reading
instructions. (Having the impatient gene inmy
body) And couldnt get the newwireless printer
to be wireless! So I said tomyself, or thought
rather “Oh well, suck it up! Its not that big of a
deal to carry it from room to room and hooked
upmy new printer.
(The XP400)
A couple of months went by...print print print..
awesome..no problems...
but wait!...theres more
My new printer ran out of ink! Magenta to be
precise.(Who uses that word? Or cyan. Whats
wrong with red and blue? I knowwhere I am
with red and blue)
Anyhoo, I thought tomyself! Ah ha! Yay! I still
have the old inks! So naturally, I rushed right off
to get them! I gave them a little shake. Still good!
Score!
More red fingers,
al-
though now stained also with black, cyan and
yellow annnnnnd I had to go to work in an hour
annnnnnnd it wouldnt wash off! But thats beside
the point! Slot them in and.. They wouldnt go!
Ugh..try again....push harder...(Crikey, but theyre
tight. Must be because the printers new) And
suddenly, the printer is now tellingme...
”Error....please turn off printer, then on again”
Buh...I did this....8 times to be precise
(Us OCDers are very precise)
So Im shouting at the printer now..
” I FUCKING DID THAT AND I FUCKING
KNOOOOOOW.....I CAN READ!!!!!!!”
Because sometimes, you have to explain things
to the machines. Ya know? Right...
Restart the printer....AGAIN...decide to get the
inks out..they wont budge...broke a nail trying
to get out magenta....magenta..always the
magenta...and I now look like somebody has
stabbedme, the printer, and the table it rests
on.Or worse...if someone stabbedme NOW...
nobody could tell!...
“FINE!” I scream at the printer. “FINE”
I go away and look online as toWTF
is going on with these inks! Why...
wont they fit!
Im sure........uh oh....no...oh
no....okay..Who in their right
mindmakes the P so small
on the XP part?
XP is NOT compatible
with the TX or CX series.
And thats another
thing! Why not? Take
a deep breath, count
to 10 and hope you
havent damaged
the printer forcing ink
cartridges that dont fit. Not to
mention bleeding ink everywhere!
Does this stopme?...noooooooooooooooo....
I now get out my OLD printer, and hook it up...the
CX...andWait. Wheres the software?
I got software for the TX, I got software for the
XP. Maybe I threw out the CX software with the
TX printer..*deep sigh*...oh wait! Check onmy
old laptop, and lo and behold! The software for
the CX is there
Yay! Now load these inks in and print, transfering
the pic withmy terrabyte..(more drama)
Soooooooo..I’m all set up, right?
Using a printer that Noah took with himonto the
Ark, but it will do until my new inks arrive in the
mail...open up the CX to slot the cartridges into
and ta daaaaaaaaa...WTF?????
4 loaded inks looking at me..still viable and good
to go. I ask you...who retires a printer with full
inks in it?
Me apparently.
At this point I decide I dont want to print any
more, and Imgoing to work..late. And looking
like Imdying!
Me...only me.
As a foot note,
Since this was
written, the new
inks have been
delivered for the
wireless!
But that is NOT
for today...
I can’t wait!
CDQ
(Confessions of a DramaQueen)
Okay! The bane of my life at the moment is my printer.
Now, I know I have the OCDs. I am happy to have OCDs!
I live with them very very well, thank you!
I know them inside out and I know where I am with them. They don’t change.
So when my
*looking up the number because its important*
printer.
The
Fabulous
CX5500 started putting out fuzzy pics a few years ago.
Oddly, it turned out to just need head cleaning. Who’d have thunk it?
I thought ”okay..time to get a new printer!” So I did.
(The TX 100, I think)
“Having the
impatient gene in
my body”
No printers were
harmed in the writing
of this article.
..so far.
