Is Volstagg ever hard to write?
Sometimes he definitely is. I try
not to God Mode him, I let him
play out how he wants to play
out, and that results in conflicting
moments.
For all the time I play, I spend
equal time lurking and just enjoy-
ing the read of other people’s play.
It happens to all of us. It’s just
that some reach that point and
give up, but the rest of us, push
through it.
It comes back to you and starts
flowing easy again, eventually.
Have you ever written something
then wondered “wtf”?
- If so what did Volstagg do that
you were not expecting.
Yes. He’s a twat and never listens
to me.
An example would be long ago at
the Inlet of Frozen Falls. We (me
and him) were strolling along a
cliff top and we spotted his lost
show (Don’t ask)
I would have gone to find a path
down there, but he just bloomin’
jumped off!
He broke a rib and we spent the
rest of the way home bickering
about it.
Volstagg is one of the few men
that you see that holds honor
and codes, but he is also one of
the most controversial characters
around Gor, how come that is?
I pretty much covered this up

If you the writer were ever to meet
your character what do you think
that would be like?
I think that one of us would die,
especially if he refused to get in
the kitchen and make me a cup of
tea.
What other things would you like
us to know about Volstagg?
He lives by the motto: People
should either be caressed or
crushed. If you do them minor
damage they will get their re-
venge,
But if you cripple them, there is
nothing they can do. If you need
to injure someone, do it in such a
way that you do not have to feat
their vengeance.
