Social networking has be-
come a crazed phenomena
that has everyone addict-
ed to time on the internet.
Facebook and twitter are
just the tip of iceberg as
smartphones evolve with
apps for thousands of ways
to hook up, link up, sync
up and spend time together
whether with someone you
can reach out and touch or
someone across the oceans
on another continent.
Roleplayers were ahead
of their time!
Before all the aforemen-
tioned we were gathering in
chat rooms and interacting
in what was a cutting edge
creative outlet; but that is
where it stayed. Not only did
it stay there, it grew stagnant
and steamrolled through the
years in the wrong direction.
Prior to
Roleplay Evolution’s
revolution
were rules that
strangled creativity, councils
that preached the only ac-
ceptable ways, administrators
that held the hoops you had
to jump through for approval
within this declining popula-
tion.
You risked becoming a pariah
if you were the wrong gender
in their eyes. If you wanted to
branch out and explore new
avenues you had to have per-
mission to shelve a fictional
character. If you wished to
write your own ending to a
tale or add in new elements to
the plotlines, you were lam-
basted upon their forums.
There was ‘coventry’ prac-
ticed, ostracism backed by the
powers that be Those pesky
administrators of sites that
would reap from your efforts
and memberships only to turn
when the tide of popularity
did against you.
And we all tolerated it.
