I got the pleasure of interview-
ing the person and character of
Edfeil Stormblade de Jelckema,
who is a character fromWind-
storm Castle.
So take a moment to read and
learn about one of our New-
est Characters within History

tion.
How did the character Edfeil
Stormblade de Jelckema come
into creation?
I started playing Edfeil over 15
years ago, on my first foray into
RP. I had never played before,
didn't know how it worked,
just.. entered the room, looked
about and started. That was in
Windstorm Castle, under the
rule of King Agustin on Chat-
castle (now defunct).
I came in as the typical.. waif
with the tattered dress so to
speak but learned from my
mistakes. Tell us a little about
Edfeil Stormblade de Jelckema
In her pre story.. she had a
peaceful, happy life. Lost her
mother at age 13 but while she
mourned, it wasn't unusual in
the early tenth century for that
to happen. She became en-
gaged to a neighbor’s son in a
sensible match.
When her father was over-
thrown and killed however and
their land seized, the betrothal
was bought off at the local
abbey and Edfeil fled.
Being new there are both..
plotholes and obvious cliché's
in that background story. She
did however grow through her
years in Windstorm, and after
a certain time the king became
her guardian, then adopted her.
She was desperate for him
to remarry and sire an heir.
From those days she carries
a reputation for matchmaker,
because if a woman was of
good repute and childbearing
years, she'd introduce her to
her father.
When Agustin disappeared,
she became regent, and later
queen.Despite two sincere
courtships in the first ten years,
she never married until she
entered into a betrothal with
prince Gregor Jelckema, broth-
er of King Magnus.
While the marriage was polit-
ically motivated she liked her
husband well enough when
she married him and later
came to fall in love with him.
After over two years and many
worries, she gave Windstorm
it's first heir.
What are her dreams, goals in
life?
Some would consider her bor-
ing, but she just wants to.. do
her duty, live her life in peace
and make people around her
happy. She always says that
she is more suited to be a
housewife than to be a queen.
What is one of the scariest
moments that you recall hap-
pening to Edfeil Stormblade de
Jelckema?
Recently.. it would most likely
be.. backed against a wall with
two swords against her throat
by someone she completely
trusted.
Or the time someone stormed
into her bedroom at the ear-
liest hours in the morning,
screaming.
While she wasn't scared but
probably should have been the
time that pregnancy hormones
overwhelmed her and she was
rattling the bolt of the dun-
geons with someone danger-
ous inside may have offered
others some gray hairs.
