What is your name?
Addiction. Otherwise known as
Xander of Kar
What is the name of your
room?
Port Kar
How did your room come
about?
Our room is a Gorean room
set in one of the largest Port
Cities in Gor. It is famed and
notorious for being a den
of thieves, allowing the only
thieves guild with actual caste
recognition, and being a home
for pirates.
What kinds of things do you
think sets your room apart
from others like it?
The fact that we actually like
to role-play. Not just mundane
everyday role-play, but we
enjoy intrigue, some drama (the
good in character kind), and we
don’t place restrictions on what
our members can and cannot
do, up to effectively taking
over the room or owning large
chunks of the City, it can all be
done.
What kinds of things have you
done to make it more fun?
Removed most of the stodgy
rules that are known to
permeate Gor and dispelled a
bunch of the stigmas around
Gor like free women and slaves
can’t have fun, can’t be part of
storylines, can’t do this and
that, etc.
What kind of role-play is done?
Free form or strict realm rules?
Gor of course has some built in
‘known rules’ just like any other
realm but it's all Free Form.
What is your favourite thing
about the style of play done in
your room?
The fact that it just flows. We’re
all adults. We give and we take,
and people aren’t and shouldn’t
be afraid to throw a punch, or
take one, it makes it more fun
that way.
What is your favorite character
that has ever been in the
room?
I have to go really old school
on this one, and say Dasoul.
It's been awhile but there’s
something about a gorean
poet, turned warrior, turned
slaver, living in Port Kar of all
places.
That should have set off alarm
bells in people’s heads through
the role-play but never did. He
was shifty and slick, and plied
his trade well.
Has your room ever had any
events, if so what?
We’ve had some ‘small’
events that we were working
on and that have been done
such as the cafe opening, the
sponsoring (and mostly Karian)
spar tournament, and have
some other ideas coming up in
the future in the works.
What is the funniest thing you
can recall ever happening in
play?
This is a question that might be
best answered by some of the
other room members as I’ve
just recently returned however
I remember seeing the graffiti
in Kar that was going on and
happening which kind of
cracked me up, both in the
room and on the boards.
Between that and their
likenesses to certain Karian
Captains and Free it was pretty
humorous. That coupled with
the bumbling play of two
slaves thrust deep into the
intriguing web of their owner
and forced to go all slave-team
6 to try and steal something
for their Master, it was quite
comical.
What is the steamiest?
Anything that Athelston does
in the Tavern. Serious. He’s
a lady-killer. The slave girls
screams when He gets a hold
of them are legendary. I won’t
ruin it, you just need to come in
and watch.
What would you like people to
know about your room?
That things are changing right
now and in a bit of a Flux but
we’re working on getting our
footing and putting together a
solid leadership foundation to
keep things moving from here
on out.
