owza! Another couple
of months flew by right
before my eyes and with the
holiday season devouring so
much time for everyone, it
completely got away from me.
ReVo! We’re celebrating the
holiday season with a lot of
charitable work. Addiction
and The Edge started a fund
drive for Toys for Tots that
coincides with the generosity
of CaBinet member Halo and
her family’s pledge to match
single donations people make to
various organizations.
There is still time, if not during
ReVo’s drive for charity, then
year round to support all these
good causes that are near and
dear to our hearts. No amount is
ever too little, nor too great.
Typically, there are various
versions of Secret Santa going
on all month in the online
community, and on ReVo it’s
no different - except we put
our own twist on the tradition.
This year, every participant has
a tree ready to receive gifts,
ranging from tokens to avatars
to gift cards to promissory
notes for roleplay or gaming,
and anything else which we
can think of. It’s been great
seeing the creativity in online
gifting, and seeing people get
showered in awesome presents!
2015 is almost upon us, and
I expect it to be just as full of
change and innovation as 2014
was for ReVo. Project Evolution
has a couple things we are
working on; while progress is
slow, we are making advances.
I had the original chatware
programmer intrigued when
I asked him about adding a
process not included in the
current setup.
However, after considerable
thought, it was decided that
there really wasn’t a way to
program our idea into the
current chatware, so we are
going back to the drawing board
to figure out a way to make it
work. I’m being vague because
we don’t want to promise the
moon when don’t yet have a
path to success - like the Soviet
space program and certain
other chatsites.
The work from suggestions,
conversations, and
brainstorming are continuously
being evolved upon behind the
scenes, and I expect we’ll have
new, never-before seen features
available in the upcoming
year. Gauging from the level of
features we added during our
first year, our additions will be
world class, user friendly and be
chatsite functional - not just fluff.
We are pleased to announce
that our evolution on room
experimentations, Transilient
Rooms, is going to remain!
They have been a great
success, even if for just a few
weeks in some cases, because
everyone, member or not, has
the opportunity to try out new
ideas, to gauge interest, and
decide yay or nay without any
pressure. Keep bringing in your
dreams and desires, and we’ll
keep getting them live for you to
play in!
I want to take a moment to
reflect on everything that 2014
meant for us on ReVo. There
is far too much to list for how
we got here, starting with our
grand opening on October 18,
2013, but key elements are our
focus on writing and making
sure all our chatters enjoy the
atmosphere of our online home.
I want to encourage everyone to
continue the pro-ReVo, positive,
welcoming ambiance we
embrace in greeting folks that
venture onto our site. Our goals
- providing solid roleplay in
the roleplay rooms and familial
camaraderie in the OOC rooms
- continue to set the standard,
as we intended when we first
drafted the design of the site,
and it’s a solid foundation for
many years to come.
